Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 26, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of residential IT support services by Kairos Technologies (operated by James Hsu). By requesting or receiving services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope of Services

Kairos Technologies provides independent residential IT support, including troubleshooting, device setup, home network configuration, software assistance, and remote or on-site support.

Services are provided for residential clients only. Business IT services, managed services, and enterprise support are not offered.

2. Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have authorization to request service on the device, network, or accounts involved.

Clients are responsible for maintaining backups of important data. While reasonable care is taken, Kairos Technologies is not responsible for data loss, corruption, or hardware failure occurring during or after service.

3. Remote Support Authorization

By requesting remote assistance, you authorize temporary remote access to your device for the purpose of performing the requested work. You may terminate a remote session at any time.

4. On-Site Services

For in-home visits, clients agree to provide a safe working environment. Pre-existing damage, hidden hardware faults, or unrelated failures discovered during service are not the responsibility of Kairos Technologies.

5. Fees & Payment

Service fees are communicated prior to or at the beginning of service. Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Diagnostic or troubleshooting time may be billable even if the issue cannot be fully resolved.

6. Cancellations

Clients are requested to provide reasonable notice if cancelling or rescheduling an in-home appointment. Excessive last-minute cancellations may result in a service fee at our discretion.

7. No Warranty

Services are provided on an “as-is” basis without guarantees of permanent issue resolution, compatibility with third-party software, or continued performance of aging hardware.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service provided.

Kairos Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of use, or business interruption.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and applicable Canadian federal laws.

10. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
